The hottest ticket in Los Angeles this weekend is for The Hollywood Bowl’s star-studded concert performance of Jesus Christ Superstar starring Cynthia Erivo in the title role and Adam Lambert as Judas. We have one question: When is it coming to Broadway?
Excitement has been building since the production was first announced, and now JCS stans are in full throttle thanks to a teaser released by Lambert and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Are we surprised that Lambert is blowing the roof off of the Hollywood United Methodist Church, where the video was filmed? Hardly. The American Idol alum has roots in musical theater, having toured early in his career in Wicked, and more recently appearing on Broadway as the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. 1 Minute Critic was in the audience for the latter, and let’s just say we’re ready to “Wilkommen” Lambert back to Broadway any time.
There’s still a handful of tickets for the remaining two performances, but we’ll be living vicariously with Adam Lambert’s hot take of “Heaven On Their Minds.”

It wants better content.
