It’s been just over three years since Dylan Mulvaney first started documenting her transition on TikTok. Over 9.1 million followers later, Mulvaney has written a memoir (Notes From a Late Bloomer), produced a cabaret show at New York City’s famed Rainbow Room, and now, after a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, brings her one-woman show, The Least Problematic Woman in the World, to New York City.
Tim Jackson will direct the Off-Broadway production, which begins previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (original home of Oh, Mary!, so she’s following in solid footsteps) on September 20, with an opening scheduled for October 7.
“We’re so happy to have found our home at the magical Lortel Theater, where audiences can revel in the intimacy of the space, and enjoy an up-close connection to this story of joy, courage,e and heart,” Jackson said. “Now more than ever we need incredible women like Dylan on our stages, telling their stories, broadening horizons and, in this case, giving us the gift of laughter.”
Through her TikTok videos, book, and countless public appearances, Mulvaney has embodied the essence of trans joy. She’s also faced public scrutiny, thanks to “Beergate,” which sent corporate America into an anti-DEI spiral.

It wants better content.
Mulvaney has always worn her heart on her well-tailored sleeve, and The Least Problematic Woman in the World promises an even more intimate look into her life— from Catholic school kid to trans TikTok icon.
Except fabulous costumes, plenty of showtune references, and, as Truvey says in Steel Magnolias, laughter through tears.
The Least Problematic Woman in the World plays at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Performances begin September 20 with a limited run through November 30, 2025.
